The hat mother made

The Hat Who Made

The first-grade morality textbook published by Nippon Bunkyo Shuppan, includes a story titled “The Hat Mother Made.” The story is roughly as follows: “The king offered to exchange his golden crown for Anders’ hat, but Anders refused, saying that nothing could be better than the hat his mother made for him.”
The goal of this story is apparently to foster an understanding of the importance of family and to cultivate a desire to build a better home life.
I wonder how children who don’t have mothers would feel about this. I believe this story promotes the incorrect notion that even bad parents must be cherished.
