Downfall

I’m constantly dumbfounded by the poor quality of service at public facilities like sports centers, pension offices, and post offices. Is this just an unavoidable aspect of living in the countryside?
Also, today, there was a mayoral and city council election in my town, and I went to vote a while ago. I’m so disappointed that the voting and counting processes can’t be done online.
Politicians who are afraid of IT advancements or engineers who can’t create the necessary systems… it’s a double whammy.

Watching the news about the Hyogo Prefectural Governor, I’m surprised at how unfazed this person seems despite all the commotion. It reminds me of Mr. Takafumi Horie, who was attacked by almost all media and the public but never gave up.
It’s said that the arrests of Horie and Mr. Isamu Kaneko set back Japan’s IT innovation. I hope that the downfall of this young politician is merely a personal issue and not a similar setback for Japan.
